Brazilian melodic metal Lasting Maze performed on April 24th at Festival Desérticas II, where they released their second EP, "Thunder". Vocalist Grazy Mesquita commented on the event: "We were looking for the right date to release our new EP "Thunder", and the festival festival gave us an excellent opportunity to do it. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we produced a great audiovisual content for the festival that was shown in a pre-recorded format, those were the videos from the 'Lockdown Sessions' version of the songs 'Thunder', 'Kosmos' and 'Destiny (Carry On)', all songs belonging are taken from our new EP. We had a wonderful team to produce these videos, Tiago Bampa was responsible for the location and filming, he is a partner who has been producing our videos for a long time and always delivers an impeccable job. Polly Freitas and Adrienny RosWin were responsible for makeup and costumes. For each video there was a change of costumes and special makeup, which brought characteristics and elements of the themes of the songs, they did a sensational work that was highly praised. We, Lasting Maze members, did our best playing and performing the songs for the videos, it was amazing to see that the final result of our efforts was highly praised by the festival audience. It was amazing to be able to play alongside so many inspiring bands, fronted by strong women, and to see a local festival receiving this notoriety made us all very proud". Now the quartet is making available one of the videos of this "lockdown sessions", recorded for "Thunder", the title track of the new EP. To watch click HERE. Listen "Thunder" EP HERE. Brazilian melodic metallers Lasting Maze bring a reflection on fear with "Thunder" EP release24/4/2021 Brazilian melodic metal Lasting Maze was formed back in 2014. Composing songs about the human mind, psychology, science, movies, games, as well as human feelings, the group formed by Grazy Mesquita (vocals), Pedro Anselmo (guitars), Isaac Barros (bass) and Mick Souza (drums) worked hard despite the delay caused by coronavirus pandemic, releasing singles, videos and playing online festivals while finishing their new effort, a follow-up to 2016's "Silent Spring" EP. April 23rd marks the end of this wait with the release of "Thunder" EP, an effort which shows Lasting Maze's new approach and maturity, presenting a positive message to fans, showing that it is possible to face your fears and challenges with patience, wisdom and holding your head high. Singer Grazy Mesquita says about the EP: "'Thunder' brings an energetic and positive atmosphere, making a reflection on fear, a normal feeling, but one that can imprison the human mind. In order to face fear, it's necessary to understand it, question it and map it, then you are be able to move on. The songs propose that it is possible to face all adversities without placing yourself in a victim position, understanding your place as an individual, empowering yourself and facing obstacles with vigour, wisdom, patience and holding your head high." The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by Daniel Tavares, at Nevada Studio. The artwork was made by Wesley Souza and shows elements that represent all the songs of the EP: Thunder, empowerment, the Cosmos, the search to achieve what is desired. Above all, the artwork conveys a stormy and dark atmosphere, representing the countless adversities that we face, but it also conveys serenity and strength through the features of the character. All these elements result in a beautiful masterpiece that sets the atmosphere of "Thunder" EP. LASTING MAZE is:
Links: Multi-national melodic metallers Angel Nation have just released a music video for their new single "Fly Away". Angel Nation are currently working on the band's third album, but they've made a pit stop on this journey by releasing an extra special song "Fly Away". Some time ago a long term supporter approached Elina to ask if she would write a song to his son's memory. She read the story behind it which turned out to be very moving and sad. However, when hearing more and looking more closely, it was the positivity and joy that shone through. A song dedicated to the memory of Leif Ole, someone who touched so many hearts, kept laughing, showing others how to enjoy the small things. Someone whose smile will never die in the hearts of those who got to know him. Musically "Fly Away" has the true Angel Nation sound, bringing back the old school band feel and 80’s vibes. This ballad combines a more intimate, acoustic approach and a full rock sound being delicate, strong, sad and joyful, all at the same time! "We are thrilled to be releasing new music and hope this song will bring positivity in the midst of what has been a hard year for many of us. If you want to support us on our way to our third full-length album, you can purchase and stream this single on the usual digital platforms." Angel Nation online

www.witchbound.com www.facebook.com/Witchbound Everlust, gothic rock / melodic metal band from Latvia, will release their sophomore full length album “Diary of Existence” on May 7th, 2021 via Wormholedeath on all digital platforms worldwide. Band Comment: "The album will consist of 11 compositions, which are like different diary entries. The album describes the feelings of a person writing a diary. The mood is mostly melancholic in songs like “Land of Dreams”, “I Never Was” and “Alone”, which are heartbreak ballads about loneliness and unrequited love, even a little mystical “Despair” filled with more aphotic feels. There is also energy driven philosophical song “Running” which is about being alone in a crowd and running from oneself, lustful song “Everlust” and bipolar “Destroyer”. The band also made their version of famous Sam Smith’s song “Writings on the Wall”. “Diary of Existence” will also feature a duet song “Entwined” with Ålandic band LAMORI's front man Matias Juselius, which is also a romantic ballad about sick relationships." About their new album: “Each of these songs is like the tales about our feelings, while going through some difficult situations in life and getting over them. We hope that these songs will be a helping hand to our listeners facing the same problems.” Everlust is a gothic rock / melodic metal band from Riga, Latvia. Their music can be described as melancholic and romantic. They sing about love, passion, heartbreak, misery, death. Besides, they are the only active gothic band left in the Baltic region at the moment with strong influence from bands like “Draconian”, “Theatre of Tragedy”, “Charon”, “Paradise Lost”, “Sentenced”, “Lacuna Coil”, “Trees Of Eternity” and more. In 2020 Everlust signed a record deal with “Wormholedeath” records label from Italy. The new album “Diary of Existence” was recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered at Titans Lab Studio (Ferrara, Italy). Produced by Carlo Bellotti and Riccardo Daga. Band members:
Greek metal masters Nightfall are now streaming their brand new opus 'At Night We Prey' in full in advance of the release date. The new offering is set for release on March 05, 2021. The album can now be streamed via the official Season of Mist YouTube channel HERE. The link may be freely spread throughout your channels. The album can be ordered in various formats HERE. Vocalist Efthimis comments on the stream: "This album is made of anger and hope. Anger about all those stereotypes built around serious subjects affecting all, like depression; and hope for things to change for the better. We sing for younger generations to break down old misconceptions about mental disorders. Music in this album is not following a linear pattern, but rather tries to catch the entire spectrum of mood swings one is experiencing, while in this state. It is a blend of fast and slow parts, heavy and heavier passages, in a natural progress from start to end. Enjoy it and let its message root in you."
It has been seven long years since the world was last blessed with new music from the melodic blackened death metal stalwarts of Nightfall. While the band has been absent from the scene since the release of 2013’s Cassiopeia, their legacy has not been forgotten. Comprising the holy trinity of Greek metal – along with Rotting Christ and Septicflesh – Nightfall was the first extreme act in the country to sign an international deal, introducing the world to the burgeoning Mediterranean scene in the early 90s. Now, the band is plotting a triumphant return with At Night We Prey, the darkest and latest chapter of Nightfall’s already storied career. During the first decade of Nightfall’s lifespan, the band headlined stages across Europe. Thereafter, went on to dominate international festivals such as Brutal Assault, Sonisphere, and Wacken, the latter of which the band solidified their legacy as the first ever Greek band to earn an envied spot at the renowned festival. The band eventually made the decision to switch to a studio act before they went completely silent. When reflecting upon the sudden disappearance after a steady rise from the underground, vocalist and founding member Efthimis Karadimas explained that it was due to an all too familiar beast – depression:- “It's because of depression that kicked in as early as mid-00s. I can write for hours and get into details about stuff gone wrong or mistreated situations, but the basis of all discouragement to move on has been depression and the effort required to get over it.” Despite the dark days, Karadimas did not abandon music entirely, moving on to form The Slayerking, a gothic doom metal band that has released two agonizing full-length records between 2016-2019. Alas, the abrupt departure of the band was not the final “goodbye” as Nightfall has been reinvigorated with a new line-up and coveted deal with Season of Mist. Karadimas has reunited with original Nightfall guitarist Mike Galiatsos, who helped define the band’s sound during the early years. With the addition of drummer and producer Fotis Benardo (ex-Septicflesh) as well as guitarist Kostas Kyriakopoulos (The Slayerking), the band is finally ready to release the tenth studio album At Night We Prey. In addition to the long-awaited new music, Season of Mist will also be re-issuing the band’s original albums that were produced by Holy Records back in the 90s. This is not the only news the band has to share as Nightfall has also vowed to finally perform again. “We are gonna play these live, including stuff never played live before,” says Karadimas. Adding: "‘At Night We Prey' is a very dark and personal effort, tackling the topic of Karadimas’s battle with depression. “A beast I have experienced its teeth deep into my soul, I decided to come out and share that experience with metalheads. This is the least I can offer now to the big fight against depression. If we do not stop this, it will eat us all alive. Share your pain, speak openly about it. This is the only way to kill the demons in your mind.” Line-up Efthimis Karadimas : Bass, vocals Mike Galiatsos : Guitar Kostas Kyriakopoulos : Guitar Fotis Benardo : Drum https://www.instagram.com/nightfallband https://www.facebook.com/nightfallbandofficial Italian melodic metal band Marble have just released their new single 'Heartless Disease' along with a new lyric video. Band links: English extreme metal group Ghosts Of Atlantis are pleased to debut their cinematic journey for the next track from their debut album "3.6.2.4". The bands sound is an epic journey for the listener, full of beautiful melodies, backed up by a crushing assault with emotive lyrics. The bands debut album entitled "3.6.2.4" will be out March 26th worldwide via Black Lion Records in CD, LP and digital formats. Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/3jmvVOiJvHY Playing music at the joint of modern heaviness and diverse melodism, the band’s style is expanding constantly and represents a mind-blowing mixture of many melodic metal genres – from power, folk, doom and gothic metal to modern progressive metal. The band completely deserves to be called one of the most outstanding young musical representatives of their style. Guitarist Victor Morozov comments: "This music video is a tribute to the pre-COVID 19 era we all miss so much. We hope that the good old days when bands were touring the world freely will return soon! "Be What You Are" is a short and driven song which says that anyone can achieve anything. The most important thing s to believe in yourself and take action. I must say that the riffs in this track are quite unusual for our style and that makes the track stand out on it's own." The "Be What You Are" video was recorded during the final show on the "Vortex" tour - November 16th, 2019 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Their second album "The Silver Lining" was reissued in December 2020. For More Info: Ravenscry has unveiled a video for “The Door Inside,” the latest in a weekly series of lyric videos leading up to the May 15 release of the album 100. Watch “The Door Inside” at https://youtu.be/r07aMfSeVdM. Musically, “The Door Inside” is a combination of both the “classic” and the renewed sound of the Italian alt-metal band. Mighty 8-string riffs and chords give way to melodic synths and even catchier vocals – in a sense, exploring new shores while keeping the same bold attitude. Giulia Stefani states that:- “In a similar way, you can find a sort of dichotomy in the lyrics, where personal research can deepen one of our greatest inner struggles: the never-ending ‘fight’ between instinct and rationality. This conflict becomes ‘louder’ when we have to make choices, and yet we don’t face them the same way every time. Sometimes we want to be more rational, sometimes we wish to fulfil our desires and sometimes we just have to find the right balance in order to take the best decision. Everyone finds their answers, although we all know that there’s only one thing we have to leave outside the door: fear.” The melodic metal band is launching back onto the global metal scene with the highly anticipated 100. Featuring dramatically soaring vocals, bone-shaking rhythms and dark songwriting, for nearly a decade this fierce group has been hooking millions of listeners worldwide with their infectious anthems. Their first album in three years, 100 attests to Ravenscry’s bold return. With more energy, more melody and even smarter lyrics, 100 stays true to the core of Ravenscry’s sound while remaining accessible enough to hook even more new listeners. Sincere, intelligent and brutally honest — the album sums up the human experience to a tee, from epic highs to soul-crushing lows. Ravenscry released “Maybe,” the first official single and video from 100, last month. Watch “Maybe” here: https://youtu.be/ROgLlZSBfzE. “The Entertainer” – a song inspired by entertainers who keep audiences smiling while silently struggling and fighting personal demons – was the first in the lyric video series and can be viewed at https://youtu.be/41FhzbVAar0. 100 was produced by Ravenscry, mixed by Roberto Laghi (In Flames, Hardcore Superstar) and mastered by Dragan Tanasković (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity). The album features artwork by Spanish artist Mario “Aégis” S. Nevado. Pre-order 100 now via the Ravenscry webstore at https://store.ravenscryband.com/. Ravenscry first made a mark on the world in 2011 with their debut album, One Way Out, and began steadily grinding their way up the ranks of the global metal scene. In 2014, the band spearheaded a campaign to raise awareness about violence against women with the release of The Attraction of Opposites and the single “Alive,” released on International Women’s Day. 2017 saw the release of the concept album The Invisible, which told a complex and mystifying coming of age tale, followed by numerous European festival appearances and tours with Angra and Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime.
